Advisory Board
The Advisory Board of MKB Fonds offers both solicited and unsolicited advice to the management. This advice covers the objectives of MKB Fonds as well as the growth, development, and implementation of MKB Fonds’ activities in the broadest sense. Furthermore, the Advisory Board serves as a sounding board for MKB Fonds and its management.
A.V. Paardekooper
Mr. Paardekooper is a specialist in mergers and acquisitions and co-founder of Blenheim Advocaten and Hunt Corporate Finance. He has supervised more than 200 transactions over the past 12 years, including the acquisition of IENS by TripAdvisor, MMS by Laborie, and the sale of Smulweb to Jumbo. Additionally, he advises and litigates on shareholder disputes and serves as an advisor to directors, commissioners, and supervisors. Mr. Paardekooper is also the author of the book “Handleiding voor de Commissaris (en Toezichthouder)”. Moreover, Mr. Paardekooper is active as an entrepreneur and investor. He is one of the founders of Zecco, which was successfully sold in 2016.
As of January 1, 2021, Mr. Paardekooper was appointed to Chairman of the Advisory Board of MKB Fonds N.V. Mr. Paardekooper has the Dutch nationality and does not own any shares in the capital of MKB Fonds and/or its associated funds.
J.A. Emmens
Mr. Emmens has worked for many years in the investment branch of ING Bank, and subsequently successfully founded a company that was active in setting up, placing, and managing of primarily real estate funds. Nowadays, he is involved as an entrepreneur and investor in various companies, particularly in the fields of financial services, sustainable energy, and real estate.
Mr. Emmens was appointed as a member of the Advisory Board of MKB Fonds N.V. in 2016. Mr. Emmens has the Dutch nationality and does not own any shares in the capital of MKB Fonds and/or its associated funds.
Naber
Mr. Naber is 60 years old and studied econometrics at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). He started his career at ABN AMRO in the Treasury Management Services department. In 1994, he co-founded ‘Zanders’ with a former colleague. With a specialised focus on Treasury and Risk, Zanders assists multinationals, financial institutions, governments, NGOs, and regulators in effectively engaging with financial markets.
Thanks to the strong growth of the company, Zanders is now a leading global firm in Treasury and Risk, with its own staff of approximately 350 professionals. These professionals operate from ten offices across Europe, the Middle East, the United States, and Asia.
In 2021, Mr. Naber sold a minority stake in Zanders to MML, a private equity firm with its headquarters in London. Mr. Naber is married and has two children. He has also founded an investment company called ‘Catena’, which focuses on sustainable energy production and is active in Germany and Scotland.
Mr. Naber joined the Advisory Board of MKB Fonds N.V. on August 31, 2023. Mr. Naber has the Dutch nationality and does not own any shares in the capital of MKB Fonds and/or its associated funds.
